I played Mass Effect long after finishing Mass Effect 2 (more than once) For some reason, I didn't really pay attention to the game when it first came out and didn't really see anything that compelled me to play it (and I think I didn't have an Xbox 360 at the time either)

At any rate, after such a wonderful crew in ME2, I was a little spoiled playing ME. Besides, what can I say, I have a thing for Tali and Liara :)

I always choose Kaidan and Ashley. No one else banters the same way they do, for instance:

Ash: Here we are, trillions of miles from where mankind first began, and we walk into a bar with men ogling a bunch of half naked women. I don't know whether that's funny or sad.
Kaidan: What, you don't think they're here for the food?:D

Mind you, all the characters had pretty good banter, but there was just something endearing about the way Kaidan and Ash bounced off each other. If you take them along on enough missions, and listen to their unique dialogue, you'd find the choice on Virmire SO much harder and emotional.

Very good point. I think having played the game *after* hearing about the choice dulled the effect quite a bit, that's what I get for being so late on the band wagon. At least, ME3 will be spoiler free for me! Mwahahaha! :D

I played it too after ME2 !
I couldn't live with "choices" which were made "for" me !
Wrex dead, Council dead, Udina for council !!!!!

I wanted Wrex alive, Council alive (even though they are a bunch of asses) and Anderson for council.
