Description

Recently read the Eisenhorn trilogy by Dan Abnett. If you're not familiar with the novel or the Warhammer 40k universe, the Eisenhorn trilogy follows the career of imperial inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn as he fights the forces of chaos. I really enjoyed the book, it was a lot of fun to read (probably one of the best Black Library novels I've read and I've read quite a few of them :))

I really liked the original cover artwork from Adrian Smith (check his website here). If you have the chance, try finding the book in your local book store and check it out, you can also google it but while you're in the book store might as well pick a copy up.

Originally I picked up this project as a challenge: the artwork from Adrian Smith is extremely detailled and very realistic, and my artwork is... well, extremely simplified and not quite as realistic. And man, I'm not about to start a project that complex any time soon... took me about 18hrs to finish it (I'm not what you'd call "fast" by any stretch of the imagination), though it was a LOT of fun. And I learned a new way of making chains which may come in handy later :)

I also had a desktop background version for a little while.

Don't have the exact copyright notice for the Eisenhorn trilogy, but you can find the book on the Black Library website.

Done in PaintShopPro XI with tablet Intuos 2.
